Slim Gray Series Retractable Awning

Love it but wish it held up better - Mine developed a pin hole after 1 year of use so I’ll already have to put an unsightly patch on it. Luckily it developed in a place I can reach. The hardware & arms are solid but the fabric is marginal. The fabric is like a “melange” texture, it blocks the sun but you can see streaks in it. It does the job but the fabric could be thicker.

Assembly was easy and it works great. Happy so far.

Great support from Advaning - I reviewed the install procedure online at Advaning.com, they have excellent information and pictures to aid in installation. They offer soffit mount brackets for the SG Series awning. I contacted Advaning, They were very helpful and friendly in completing the order for the bracket. They allowed a return of the wall mount brackets for a refund to help offset the cost of soffit brackets. After installation, I contacted Advaning, again extremely helpful and friendly. They emailed a return label to mail wall brackets back and I had my refund in 10 days. Every email was answered within 24 hours. Awning is great quality and I highly recommend Advaning products and there support. The awning also opens and closes very easy.

I really like that this awning holds up well to wind since I live on a windy hillside. All components seem to be high-quality.

You need three people to lift and place in brackets - Excellent quality awning. We watched the video multiple times to make sure we were doing it correct. The one thing that was inaccurate was the socket size. Thankfully we had one that fit but I did run to Home Depot for the size listed. The project took a few hours. Overall very pleased with the product! I hope it lasts for years. Thank you

The awning installation directions were good and the product seems good quality and operates nicely, but I’ve only had it up a few days. My only concern was the general nature of the dimensions as opposed to specific for my model. The overall length of the torsion bar should be in increments of 16” plus 5” to 6”. The clear dimension on the torsion bar was 158.5” which created problems getting the existing stud spacing to work.

I’m enjoying the ease of operation and the results are amazing. The blocking of the sun and the lower temperature. The installation was easy with two people.

This awning is exactly what we wanted for our very hot deck on our house! It is very well made--very sturdy and it has high quality fabric. The installation was very straight forward--we had our awning up in about an hour. The video provided by the company makes the installation very, very easy. We are now able to use our deck when the sun is directly shining on it. Great product! I will be recommending it to our friends.

Well packaged for shipping. Shipping was timely and the delivery crew were helpful. Not bad instructions but lacking some measurements. One arm had a little damage from the factory but not enough to be a problem. Installation was straight forward. Overall it seems a good mid range product. There are many lower price options but are generally considered too flimsy for long term use. There are a number of much more expensive options as well but hard to judge if they are truly worth the price differential.

A wonderful addition to our house. The build quality is top notch. It arrived ahead of schedule and was packaged to survive the worst of shipping handling. I've gotten nothing but rave reviews from my friends and neighbors and a few wanted the website address to order one for themselves.

Love this awning. Great quality. Fair price. Easy to crank in and out. I would recommend it.

Excellent Quality, Easy Install - I love everything about this awning. I have the manual model and it is very easy to install, and extending and changing pitch could not be easier. Had a problem with changing the pitch, a stripped bolt, and I emailed and told them my problem. I had a new part very quickly. I like a company that reads their email! I’ve had the awning for 2 years. Looks great and excellent value!

GREAT 14' Slim Awning ---IF !! you can get it again ...- This is an EXCELLENTLY made awning. It arrives as close to " Already installed -- Open Awning " readiness as possible. Install only 3 mounting brackets, then hang (with a couple friends -- it's HEAVY)
The 14 foot length was precisely what II needed; most companies are not making this length.
The ACRYLIC fabric is as expected for higher-end outdoor pillows, cushions etc. Acylic is the fabic of choice for durability in exterior elements of rain and sun. ('Sunbrella' fabrics, for example ALL use Acrylic, NOT the cheaper polyester or blends as most other awning companies seem to be offering ... Cheaper, less durable, and will need to be replaced much sooner. ) The Burgundy acrylic fabric is deep, rich looking quality;
There were two 14' Burgundy lengths remaining on Amazon, none on the website for Avaning. I emailed Avaning directly. They had none and he encouraged me to buy through Amazon, so I did. Next day the other remaining one was advertised for $1,738, a $1,000 increase in one day!

NOT AS GOOD AS ON AMAZON REVIEWS DESCRIBED - Very hard to adjust the height. It’s only one week after I’ve installed the awning and the arm already feel like it’s gonna break. I Tried to adjust so both arms go up higher but it’s impossible. I was gonna buy two awning for my backyard patio but lucky they didn’t have the one I liked available otherwise I have to return both of them. I brought this item based on the amazon review but very disappointed now.
